Child and Adult Psychiatrist

Details
Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders. The role includes medication management, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the development of individualized treatment plans in compliance with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) guidelines. The psychiatrist will work to promote the emotional and behavioral well-being of clients in an outpatient setting, ensuring high standards of care are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments to children, adolescents, and adults, identifying appropriate treatment plans.
- Ensures practice of psychiatric medicine is consistent with OMH, HIPAA, agency policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, and mandatory continuing education.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, counselors, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive mental health care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in compliance with OMH regulations.
- Conduct follow-up appointments to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and manage risk for clients with acute mental health needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical notes, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Stay informed of current psychiatric practices and trends, particularly those relevant to the population served by Article 31 clinics.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with a specialization in Psychiatry.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry (child/adolescent psychiatry certification preferred but not required).
- Valid New York State medical license.
- Experience in an outpatient mental health setting, ideally within an OMH-certified clinic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
Salary:
$200-$250 per hour
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
